Summer prints

I just checked and my last outfit post was on the 25th of Feb, exactly a month before! What was I doing all this while? ย I’ve basically been cooped up indoors, working, painting away to glory, reading and writing a bit, drowning one fresh fruit juice after another, and not wanting to step out thanks to the soaring temperatures. Although the heat is still on the bearable side, I shudder to think what the coming months are going to bring. Summer always makes people dream about beaches, sipping drinks by the pool and lazing around. And I’ve never understood why. The beaches that I know of in India, specially in the summer months, are hot as hell, crowded, humid and did I mention hot? My mind always wanders off to cooler places, maybe a lovely cottage at a hill station, some place where I can breathe and not feel like the clothes am wearing are trying to melt my skin away!

The right kind of clothing in summer is a must for me. Only then can I be comfortable and function like a normal human being. Else, I start biting people’s heads off. Skirts and dresses are great for hot weather, but not for every place and occasion. So every summer I am on the lookout for light, cotton trousers as an alternative to jeans and leggings. Luckily this time I managed to grab a couple of them before they disappeared off the racks, and I am so ready to over-use and wear them to death this entire summer – starting right below! ๐Ÿ™‚

2014!!! Eeeee! *does a dance* It’s not like me to get excited for a new year but this time it somehow feels different. It’s heart warming to read some of my fellow bloggers’ new year resolutions/plans/goals posts. Although a lot of them are also of the resolutions are passe and not for me opinion too. I don’t understand why some people are so against new year resolutions. I get that you can start something new any day, anytime and you don’t specifically need to wait for a new year to begin to change your life around. But do you start ? Really?? If you do then hats off to you, but me being the world’s biggest procrastinator I need something like this to give me a much needed push in the right direction.

Each day and every moment is a chance to learn something new and change something about your life that you aren’t satisfied with but, there is something about beginning a whole new year with a set of goals, a change in attitude and with those so called ‘resolutions’ that makes the future seem more… promising.

This year began with a mini holiday where I attended the mega alumni meet of my college, caught up with friends (and enemies ๐Ÿ˜‰), walked around our awesome campus (which is like second home), talked about old times, laughed about the things we did, the hectic schedules and all the parties, outings and late night cups of coffee while trying to read up on case studies and basically had a blast! A visit to my alma matter is always incomplete without a trip to Pondicherry. This little beach town which was never ever on my radar before, has now become a favorite getaway – mostly thanks to the various delicious eating joints and cafes that it has.

Just about an hour and a half from our campus along the East Coast Road, which in my opinion happens to be one of the best scenic roads ever, and you land in this little french colony city!
